Notes built as open-top Hull 96; canvas screens supported on demountable hoops fitted to top deck; Rayner short-canopy top-cover c.1907; new totally-enclosed top cover fitted, also fitted with platform doors and bulkheads removed c.1930; following failure of pay-as-you-enter trials top deck removed for use on another tram and 96 used as single-deck works car 1933, sold to Leeds 1945 (and retyred from Hull centre flanges - as used only in Hull and Doncaster only for electric trams - to conventional flanges}; P.1959; to Middleton Railway 2/1961; to Stanley (near Wakefield) 9/1965; to Armley Mills, Leeds, 5/1973; to Mode Wheel, Salford, 5/1985; operating at Heaton Park 6/1988; loaned to Beamish 6/2010 (running as passenger car in Leeds works car configuration); back to Heaton Park 4/2013; restored as Hull 96 10/2015; present controllers originally fitted to 1939 Blackpool sun saloon
